Michelle graduated from Murdoch University with a Bachelor of Arts (Politics) in 1999 and a Bachelor of Laws in December 2002. Following completion of her studies, Michelle commenced working at a leading Perth law firm in January 2003 and completed her articled clerkship with the firm. Michelle worked in the Family Law Section under the direction of the Family Law partner for two years.

In 2006, Michelle commenced employment with a Perth law firm practicing exclusively in Family Law and continued to work exclusively in family law matters. Michelle left the firm to commence Hearty & Tam Family Lawyers Perth in 2008 with Judy Tam. Michelle remains committed and enthusiastic to the area of family law and has developed a particular interest in property and children’s matters. Michelle Hearty has been voted nationally by Doyle’s Guide WA 2015 as a recommended Family Law Practitioner.

With an interest in the “law”, Judy enrolled and completed her Bachelor of Laws at Murdoch University in 2002. While studying Judy was fortunate to gain experience in Family Law at Legal Aid on the Information Line. Judy also tutored Contract Law at Curtin University and lectured in Legal Framework at Curtin University’s International School during this time.

Judy has practiced exclusively in Family Law since her Admission to Practice in 2004. Following her Admission, Judy commenced working for a Perth law firm that practiced exclusively in family law. She worked at this firm until she established Hearty & Tam Family Lawyers, Perth in 2008 with Michelle Hearty.Judy remains committed and enthusiastic to the area of family law with interests in property and children’s matters, and a special interest in relocation cases.

Nicole commenced working at Hearty & Tam Family Lawyers Perth in June 2008 as a part-time Legal Secretary. Prior to joining Hearty & Tam, Nicole worked in various State Government Departments in administrative positions for 10 years.

Nicole has completed the legal assistants training course provided by the Law Society of Western Australia. In January 2012, Nicole moved into the role of Office/Accounts Manager and provides support to all the lawyers in the firm.
